When one enters a dealership to purchase a new watercraft, the first question that is probably on their mind is: How fast does it go!? The second question is: How much is this going to cost!? It depends on what one wants. For our team, importance it is in winning! To do this, we must make improvements on the original equipment and develop new ideas and concepts, and from there we must go through rigorous testing. Those are our humble beginnings. This is how we approach our problems; we begin with a concept and then find ways to increase the potential.
The Marine Corps has a saying: No Beach out of Reach. It’s sort of like looking at research development in these terms… finding the answers to increased horsepower, handling, reliability, and the list goes on and on. You are constantly fighting many factors and the elements as well.
From one race site to another, you have different waterway demands and weather conditions that tax the athletes and crew, and elevations that change the carburetion settings. For instance, from one race venue to another, we have to adapt to these conditions by changing ride plates, compression ratio, carburetion, impellers, intake grates, etc.
We have to be prepared to adapt to these various water conditions, and do so within the race timeframe that is given for troubleshooting on site during the events. Our team has multiple boat types: we have 800 R/A Superstocks and Limiteds. It takes a lot of committed individuals and preparation to handle the demands of keeping quality race boats up to competitive standards.
What does this all mean to our sponsors? First of all, for us it means valuable assistance and support for our team. For our sponsors and their clients it provides proof of the highest quality and reliable performance. Our race team puts our sponsor products through the highest level of rigorous and demanding productivity, because a boat failure can make our break your race day.
